As a vertically integrated company, we operate three state-of-the-art chlor-alkali plants along with our own fleet of tractors and trailers. Our Story
Carl Kuehne started making small batches of bleach in an old basement bathtub in Newark, NJ to sell as a laundry detergent.
Peter Kuehne Sr. was born, son of Carl Kuehne.
Peter Kuehne, Sr., a second-generation family member, joined the Company as President.
Kuehne Company was incorporated as a Delaware Corporation.
A sister company was founded called Linden Chemical and Plastics (LCP) in Elizabeth, NJ which was a chlor alkali plant.
The relationship between Kuehne Company and Linden Chemical and Plastics is dissolved.
Kuehne Company acquired Marzahl Chemical Company in Kearny, NJ, which is the current site of the Company’s NJ plant and corporate headquarters.
Kearny Barge Company, Inc. is formed and two barges to transport bleach and caustic soda are purchased.
Kuehne Company acquired the Chloramone Corporation in New Castle, DE.
A state-of-the-art brine-to-bleach (BTB) chlor-alkali plant is built at our New Castle, DE location.
The unexpected passing of one of the Company’s leaders, Roger Goetzel.
Due to another unexpected passing of one of the Company’s leaders, Peter Kuehne, Sr., Don Nicolai, Kuehne’s outside legal counsel since 1979 is appointed President.
A state-of-the-art brine-to-bleach (BTB) chlor-alkali plant is built at our Kearny, NJ location.
Kuehne Company acquired New Haven Chlor-Alkali LLC in New Haven, Connecticut.
Kuehne placed in service a brine treatment plant at its New Castle, DE location.
Zach Kuehne, a third-generation family member assumed the role of President.
Cutover to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) system to achieve one of its key long-term objectives – become a data-driven company.
